Electronic Cigarette - From Obscurity to Mass Publicity for the E Cig

If you have been following this series of articles about the electronic cigarette, you may remember that last time out we looked at issues such as money (and how much cheaper electronic cigarettes generally seem to be compared to their traditional tobacco counterparts) and nicotine (and how much of the controversy and success of the e cigarette has been down to the presence of nicotine) best blackberry e juice.

In the past couple of years, I have written many articles on the topic of electronic cigarettes and the issues and agendas that surround them and in that relatively short space of time so much has happened within the e cig industry. When I was asked to write my first article back in 2008, I have to confess, I didn't even know what they were, perhaps as a non smoker I had an excuse, but then I was not alone as many smokers themselves had no clue what they were.

What a difference a couple of years make! From relative obscurity to emerging, singing and dancing from the shadows as one of the most talked about "new" products on the world market. Not to mention extremely controversial, with some high profile battles being waged (and ongoing) between manufactures, distributors, health officials and governments.

There have already been many victories and defeats for the electronic cigarette. In 2008 the e cig was heralded (by many of its distributors at least) as a saviour for smokers! A device that would allow smokers to continue their habit whilst greatly reducing the health risks involved. Websites and indeed articles proclaimed such things as, "safer smoking" tiramisu e liquid, "healthier alternative to smoking" and "quit smoking with the electronic cigarette!"

Well, those fanfares have had to be reigned in significantly and even though many in the e-cigarette industry (as well as ex smokers who will testify to the change e cigs have made in their own lives) still privately and passionately believe them to be true, officially the bravest e cig companies can be at present is to describe their product as an "alternative" to smoking.

Whilst the battles rage on behind the scenes and until the world is categorically informed, one way or another about the destiny of the electronic cigarette, individuals are probably best advised to draw their own conclusions based on their own research. There is now a wealth of information out there regarding the product as the e cigarette bandwagon rolls on.
